George
Case is director of choral and vocal music at the Cobb County Center
for Excellence in the Performing Arts. He holds a masters degree in conducting
from
the University of Michigan and a bachelors degree in vocal performance
from
Boston University.
A
frequent soloist, Mr. Case has performed with the University of Michigan
Chamber Chorus and the internationally known University of Michigan Men's
Glee Club. He has performed choral and orchestral masterpieces with the
Carnegie
Hall Festival Chorus and the Orchestra of St. Luke's in New York City,
the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In 2006
he took part
in a gala performance of American composer Susan Botti's music in Rome,
Italy, during the closing celebrations of the 2006 Prix de Rome Competition.
He is
currently a tenor section staff soloist in the chancel choir at Trinity
Presbyterian Church in Atlanta.
A
dedicated educator of young musicians, Mr. Case has been a member of the
voice faculty at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute in Lenox,
Mass., for
three summers, where he teaches voice and music theory, directs the music
history program and is the tenor section leader for the Young Artists'
Chorus.
Mr. Case has prepared choruses for Jerry Blackstone, Kenneth Kiesler,
and
Helmuth Rilling. He has participated in Conducting Workshops with Maestros
David Hayes, Don McCullough, Tom Hall, Robert Page, and Helmuth Rilling.
