Carolyn Kahl, soprano, has performed on the operatic stage Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte and Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Seattle Opera Young Artist Program, Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, Giovanna in Rigoletto and Sally in Barber’s Hand of Bridge with the Berkshire Opera, Nicklausse/Muse/La Voix in Les Contes d’Hoffmann with Augusta Opera, Cherubino with Greensboro Opera, Dorabella with both Opera Theatre of Lucca and in the United Arab Emirates. 

Ms. Kahl made her Seattle Symphony debut as the soprano soloist in Schumann’s Manfred Op. 115 in 2005.  She has since returned to sing Mozart’s Mass in C minor, Strauss’s Idomeneo, and Vivaldi’s Gloria.

Kahl grew up in Saginaw, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan, receiving her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance in 2000. She then went to the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where she completed her Master of Music in Vocal Performance in 2003. She has just returned to theUnited States after a six-month residence in Göttingen, Germany as a Cultural Ambassadorial Scholar for Rotary International.
