Erin Palmer joined the CCCEPA faculty in 2008 as a collaborative pianist, vocal coach, and coordinator of music theory studies.
She received the Bachelor and Master of Music in Piano Performance from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. While at VSU she was winner of the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition as well as the Georgia Music Educators Association Piano Solo Competition. For part of her graduate coursework she studied abroad in Paris, France, on scholarship with the University System of Georgia European Council. After graduate school she interned at Opera Carolina in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she was assistant to James Meena and accompanied artists such as Luis Ledesma and Olivia Gorra. It was during this time that she fell in love with the vocal repertoire and began to focus on accompanying.
Ms. Palmer has trained and performed with several festivals including the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria, as well as the Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, NC. In 2010 she was a scholarship participant in the SongFest Program for Singers and Pianists in Malibu, CA, where she coached with Martin Katz, Margo Garrett, and Graham Johnson. She performs frequently in Atlanta and regularly accompanies the voice studio of Elizabeth Nohe Colson. She is a founding member and producer of the I Cantanti Casuali recital series based in Atlanta.
