Evelyn White,Piano Instructor, was born into a
musical family, Evelyn began playing at the age of three
and very soon found herself accompanying her parents on
various occasions in their hometown of Clarksville, Tennessee.
She
entered college at the age of sixteen and received a B.A. in
Piano Performance from Austin Peay State University. In 1998, she
was the recipient of the school's outstanding Young Alumna Award.
Evelyn's musical talent runs the gamut. From her early gospel church
playing, to the classical training in college, to her days with Opryland
as pianist for Today's Country Roads; from musical director of various
Broadway shows for Musicana Enterprises, to pianist and vocalist for
the American & Hawaiian Cruise Line. From the classroom as a teacher,
to the stage as a performer, she is comfortable wherever the music takes
her.
During the summers of 1998 and 1999, Evelyn toured Russia as the guest
of
the Russian Ministry of Cultural Affairs. There she performed with international
jazz artists such as Leonid Vinstskevich and Lembit Saasaslu. She now
calls
Atlanta home and is known throughout the region for her musical versatility
and
virtuosity.
She
joined the CCCEPA faculty in July, 2004.
