Of the 20 national recipients, the American Theatre Wing awarded three Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative Training Scholarships to Cobb County School District (CCSD) students. The CCSD students, who study at the Cobb County Center for Excellence in Performing Arts at Pebblebrook High School (CCCEPA), include sophomore Julia Schick and juniors Eugene Bois and Sydney Lopes.

“Eugene, Sydney, and Julia are exemplary representatives of the performing arts magnet program and the Cobb County Schools,” said Frank Timmerman, CCCEPA director of performing arts. “They display a disciplined work ethic in their study of the arts at Pebblebrook and are most deserving of this recognition. All of their teachers were thrilled to learn that they’d been selected to receive the ALW Scholarship. It’s a real source of pride for our school, and another validation of the quality of the arts education our students are lucky to receive here in Cobb.”
